Join us for music, community, and reflection at our monthly Vespers on the Lanai event, featuring Kevin Heidel: 'ukulele & voice. Kevin has been singing and performing since childhood, is self-taught on the 'ukulele, and is a lifelong member of our CCU 'ohana. His music experience began as a youngster in Hawai'i, performing with the Honolulu Boys Choir. He went on to performed with multiple choirs both in high school and college, including 4 years in the Willamette University Jazz Choir. The music he plays draws from his exposure to church hymns, Hawaiian melodies, and the American Song Book. Being self-taught, his 'ukulele arrangements of jazz standards and popular music are guided more by his personal expression versus sounding like the original. Balanced by years of vocal training, his uniquely sparse playing and vocal stylings lend themselves to a special blend of jazz standards, Hapa Haole tunes, blues, and 70’s rock. We're inviting everyone to watch the event LIVE "together" online, so plan to tune in at 7pm, July 9th at our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/
