Immigrant Accompaniment Training
Have you been curious about what accompaniment really means? Wondering what it looks like in everyday life, in our communities, and in moments of challenge, or whether it's something you're called to do?
EPA Maui (El Pueblo en Acción) warmly invites you to join for a special two-part Accompaniment Training Series, hosted in partnership with Week of Compassion. (The Disciples of Christ mission arm)
This training isn't just for Rapid Response volunteers, it's for everyone. Whether you're a parent, friend, teacher, healthcare provider, legal service provider, social worker, neighbor, faith leader, student, or simply curious about what it means to accompany another person with dignity and compassion, you're warmly invited.
Open to participants from any region, accompaniment is something we all experience and something we all have the capacity to offer, in our families, neighborhoods, workplaces, faith communities, and beyond.
More than a traditional training, this will be an interactive, experiential, and embodied learning journey. Through guided reflection, conversation, storytelling, and practical exercises, we'll explore what accompaniment looks and feels like in practice.
Whether you're simply exploring, hoping to deepen your understanding, or considering becoming more involved with EPA, this is a welcoming place to begin.
Dates: Part 1: July 15th & Part 2: July 22nd
Time: 12:00–1:00 PM (Hawaiʻi Time)
Format: Attend in person or online
Together, we'll explore what it means to accompany one another with dignity, solidarity, and collective care while building practical skills, meaningful relationships, and the confidence to support our communities.
If you're unable to attend the first session, don't worry! You'll be able to watch the recording before joining Part 2. And if you'd like to learn more or talk through whether accompaniment is the right fit for you, please don't hesitate to reach out to me personally, I would love to connect.
Please register here, and feel free to share this invitation with friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, and anyone who may be interested.
