WHAT'S HAPPENING AT CCU
Witness Commission: The Witness Commission brings "good news to the poor, sight t blind
proclaims release to the captives.” (Luke 4: 18-19) Our task is to lead our church membership
in providing practical support for social justice actions, community building, and
spiritual growth through acting out our faith in love and compassion. (more)
Adult Study: Study possibilities for adults has at least three different venues:
Bible study led by the pastor, Book study facilitated by the pastor or any interested member,
a group that meets in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings at 8:30 on a variety of
subjects that is facilitated by several members of the congregation
and the pastor. In addition, there was an evening showing and discussion of the CNN
Special, "God's Warriors".
Music Program Very much a part of the life and being of CCU, whether it being singing or instrumental.
CCU has a Chancel Choir, which rehearses on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., and a Bell Choir (Chancel Ringers),
which rehearses on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Both groups take a summer break. Music is offered by talented members
of the congregation during summer months.
Taize: For those who would be nourished by some sanctuary time of gentle evening prayer,
hauntingly beautiful chanting, candles and instrumental music, CCU conducts a monthly Taize style
service of worship. The worship is lay led and based upon simple scriptural based chants,
instrumental music, prayer and silent meditation. You are invited: Join us on the second Saturday
of each month at 7 PM. For more information about The Taize Community
