• Blessing of the Animals

At CCU, we celebrate all of God’s creation…and especially the animals in our midst. Join us Saturday, October 3, at 10 am in the CCU courtyard for a special service to celebrate our furry (and feathered) friends. Bring your pet (appropriately restrained in a carrier or on a leash) for a brief service and prayer and then stick around while each pet (and owner) receives a special blessing…and a bag of goodies! Can’t bring your pet but still want to participate? No problem! You can bring a photo of your pet if you wish or just their name. We’ll bless them just the same.

This service is in part to honor St. Francis, the patron saint of animals, who, it is said, preached even to the birds. The Catholic feast day for St. Francis is October 4.
